How to spot a fake crypto investment platform before you lose money

HireCyberZ Team· 15 Jun 2026· 1 min read

Most crypto losses we see come from convincing-looking "investment" platforms. They show fake profits to encourage bigger deposits, then block withdrawals.

Red flags to watch for

Guaranteed or unusually high returns. Real investments do not promise fixed daily profits.

Pressure and deadlines. "Deposit now or miss out" is a manipulation tactic.

Withdrawal "fees" or "taxes". Being asked to pay to release your own funds is a scam.

Introduced by someone you met online. Romance and "friendly mentor" intros are classic setups.

Before you send anything

Check who is really behind the platform and the wallet. A short due-diligence check is the cheapest protection there is.
