Scam type
Fake exchanges & trading platforms
A counterfeit exchange or broker that takes deposits and then blocks withdrawals.
Fake exchanges look like legitimate trading platforms but exist only to collect deposits. They may clone a real brand or invent a new one, complete with fake reviews and support agents.
How it works
You deposit funds and see them "grow" on a dashboard. When you try to withdraw, you hit endless verification steps, fees, or account freezes.
Warning signs
- Not listed or registered with any recognised regulator
- Withdrawals require escalating fees or taxes
- Pressure from an account manager to deposit more
- Domain registered very recently
- Reviews that all sound identical
